A word of knowledge bombed and a waitress saying, "I remember you! You prayed for me a year ago."
Took the kiddos to eat this afternoon at IHOP, and I noticed a waitress who was serving the tables around me. I thought that I had a word for her about a condition in her body, and I totally bombed it. She looked at me and said, "You prayed for me a year ago! I remember you." When we met last year, she had been having a horrible headache. She told me today that all the pain had left after I prayed for her! She even went on to tell me that one of her co-workers had said to her, "Hey, I thought you had a headache," because she was bouncing around, working like she had all sorts of energy and didn't look sick anymore. She said, "One of my customers prayed for me, and all the pain left!"
This opened the door for us to pray for our waitress. We asked her if she had any needs we could pray for. She was so taken back that we would even ask her. She grabbed my hand and let me prayed for her. Her eyes teared up, and she looked at me with a big, grateful smile as she said, "Thank you. You don't know how much that means to me."
I bombed on a word today, but it opened a conversation with a waitress from a year ago, and she was able to share a testimony of how a simple act a year ago brought a healing and encounter with the love and power of God. The truth is we will all bomb it, but you never know how you impact a person's life just by noticing them and stepping out to demonstrate God's love.
