Healing in front of the Emergency room.
I was waiting outside the doctor's office, which was right across the street from the hospital's ER. I was talking to my friend, Steve, on the phone while I was waiting. I happened to look up and saw a lady walking toward the parking garage I was waiting in. She walked with difficulty and pain, and I felt the compassion of the Lord. "Sorry," I interrupted Steve, "I have to let you go. I will call you right back."
I approached the lady and asked, "Are you OK?"
"No, I'm in a lot of pain. I had a really bad staff infection in my inner thigh, and the doc removed it." She went on to explain that she was very worried and still in pain. When I asked her on a scale of 1 to 10 what her pain level was, she said a 10!
"This may sound crazy to you - I don't know - but I'm a follower of Jesus, and could I pray for you?" She gladly agreed. I asked if I could put my hand on her shoulder, and then I began to speak to the pain and infection to go. Tears were rolling down her face, so I asked her what she was experiencing.
"I feel warm a presence coming all over my body."
I smiled and said, "That's the Lord." I blessed the work of God's Spirit on her and once again spoke to the pain and infection to go.
She just cried and said, "All the pain is totally gone!"
"Really gone? Like all the way gone??"
She nodded and said, "Like really all the way gone!" She was moving around, doing things that would have really hurt her before. Then the Lord gave me an impression about something going on in her family and shared that with her. She said, "It's with one of my kids." She just began to weep, so I prayed for her and spoke peace and asked Jesus for wisdom and healing in that relationship. She was undone. It was a powerful encounter of God's goodness.
Acts 10:38 (My favorite scripture) - God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and he went about doing good and healing all who were sick.
This is normal Christianity. Risk it, live it with love and the Holy Spirit will back you with his power. You never know who might get set free, so go for it!
