Remember the kingdom of God is at hand, even on your 16th anniversary.

Jeanine and I were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary at the Melting Pot. At first we were a little bummed because, even though we had a reservation, none of the private "honeymoon" booths were available, so we were seated in the big room right next to the kitchen. But what happened later made us glad we were seated there.

It's amazing when you come into a restaurant and a waitress (not yours) walks by your table smiling at you. Then later she comes up and says, "Can I give you a hug?" then beings to tell Jeanine and I how the night we prayed and shared destiny words over her 3 months ago changed her life and her cousin's life forever. Now they are both living for Jesus. They pray and read their Bibles every

night, and God has radically changed them. "I feel goosebumps all over me just talking about it!" she said. I could tell she was on the verge of tears.
A little while later, our waitress said, "That's really cool! Haley told me back in the kitchen that you were the couple from a few months ago. She had told me back then how you had done this amazing reading on her. Is that what you call it? A reading?"
Jeanine and I looked at each other and smiled. Then I said, "You could call it that. We just think of it as Jesus knows your heart and has really great things to say, and He really loves people."
"That's really cool. Are you ministers or something?"
"No, we're just followers of Jesus."
Before any of this had happened, our waitress had mentioned her boyfriend, and at that time I had gotten an impression that he had a sports injury in his shoulder and back, but I hadn't shared it yet. So the next time I saw her I asked, "Does your boyfriend have pain in his right shoulder and back?"
"I don't know, but he's really athletic, so he has a lot of sports injuries."
"Well, when you see him next, put your hand on his shoulder and say, 'Jesus heals you. Pain, leave,' and Jesus will heal him."
"That's awesome. I will!"
The next time we saw her bringing us our check, she said, "I couldn't wait till I got home. I texted him to see if his right shoulder and back hurt. He hasn't texted me back, but I hope he does! I'm really curious!"
We were excited to see her excitement for what God would do.
It was a pretty chill evening for us. We've been so busy and things have been so stressful with Tyler over the last several months that we just sat there enjoying each other's company and our dinner most of the night without even talking. (You know if I'm not talking, I must be really tired!) It was a great way to spend our anniversary.
