The great theologian Forest Gump said the now-famous line, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get." Well I would say that's true with the prophetic.

The great theologian Forest Gump said the now-famous line, "Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get." Well I would say that's true with the prophetic.
The prophetic is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get! One year ago today I got a special delivery box of chocolates. The prophetic word came via Bob Hazlett at the Power & Love conference in OKC, and the actual chocolates came from friends in Speyer, Germany. Bob just happened to be at the Speyer Vineyard in Germany right before traveling to OKC. Some friends in Speyer who I haven't seen in 6 years asked him, "Since you're going to Oklahoma City, would you please give this package of chocolates to our friend, Brian Blount, if you happen to see him?" I had never met Bob before, and he knew nothing about me. He wasn't sure he would even have a chance to deliver them to me, but he took the chocolates anyway. (I'm sure he thought if he couldn't find me, it would just mean more German chocolates for him and his family. If you've ever had German chocolate, you'd be thinking the same.)

During Bob's first session at the Power and Love conference, he stopped his message in mid-point and said, "Is there a Brian Blount here? If so I have a package from Germany for you." Little did I know it wasn't just a box of chocolates but a word from heaven as Bob went on to give me a prophetic word. Well, I'm still eating on that prophetic word and it seems to keep giving life. It was one of the primary words that was catalytic in the launching of Crestwood

Vineyard and the development of our Kingdom Encounters DVD training video on power evangelism. It set the momentum for me to go back into overseas ministry (I return to Speyer next month to help lead a power evangelism school there), and it was instrumental in the upcoming launch of School of Kingdom Ministry that will be coming to Crestwood Vineyard soon. Bob also said I would be an encouragement to those who first inspired me. That came true when a few months ago I was able to hand 3 of my videos and my book to an amazing man who called me out 15 years ago and said God would use me powerfully in power evangelism. As I handed these to him, I thanked him and said, "This is just a small taste of the fruit of your ministry in my life." We've stayed connected and have developed a friendship. The great thing is there is still more to come from that prophetic box of chocolates!

The picture of this box may seem ordinary, but it delivered something extraordinary. It released love and destiny! It's amazing what a simple gift of love from a friend can open up. The prophetic is like a box of chocolates, and the ones who deliver them are simply the delivery boys. The prophetic comes from love, and its delivered by ordinary packages. We just get to be couriers of that love.
PS - If you've never been to a Power and Love Conference, I highly encourage you to attend one. Their passion is to equipping the everyday disciple to live a life of power and love. I know for me and our city, it was a life-changing event. Thanks to all the people who made Power and Love OKC possible through your investment of prayer, hard work, and finances. Thanks to Tom Ruotolo and the Power and Love team for investing in equipping the body of Christ to walk in the power of their identity and do the stuff of the kingdom. You guys are truly equipping the saints, so thank you. Also, thanks to Bob Hazlett for delivering that box of chocolates! ; )
