As we were driving through St. Louis, we stopped to stretch our legs and look around a bit before we headed on to Champaign, Illinois. We wandered into a little shop and one of the ladies working there asked if we needed any help. I then asked her if she was having problems with her ankle and knee. She looked up at me and said, "Yes, how did you know?"
I told her, "Sometimes Jesus speaks to me about conditions in people's bodies because he wants to heal them." She then told me she had shattered her ankle in an accident and blown out her knee, and there are days she leaves work crying due to the pain. After the accident her knee and ankle never healed right.
I asked if she was in any pain at the moment, and she said no. I asked her if there ways in which she couldn't move that would cause pain and keep her from doing certain things, and she said yes. "OK," I said, "I'm going to pray for you, and then you test it out." I prayed for her 4 times and she started smiling, moving her ankle and knees in ways she hadn't since before the accident.
She was bending and squatting saying, "I couldn't do this, and there is no pain!"
There was another lady who worked at the store who was watching from a distance, and she asked Jeanine if I was some kind of orthopedic doctor. Jeanine said no. "A physical therapist?" Again, Jeanine just smiled and said no. The lady had a strange look on her face like asking, well what is he? Jeanine said, "Oh, he just likes to pray for people. God speaks to him." The lady said ok, like it didn't even phase her, and she went on with some small talk with Jeanine.
The lady I prayed for asked where were from, and I told her Oklahoma. We were just passing through, and she kept saying, "I know Jesus sent you here to me today. I can't wait to call my family and tell them what happened!!!!"
The kingdom of God is at hand, even when you are on vacation. Our job is to simply look, listen, and respond.
